Social Development department reiterates dedication to strengthening SASSA grants

Social Development Department Minister Sisisi Tolashe has pledged her aid and commitment to strengthening South African Social Security Agency (SASSA) products and services during an engagement using the agency's senior managers in a strategic scheduling session in Cape Town.
Tolashe on Tuesday expressed her heartfelt congratulations to the various social grant beneficiaries, who excelled from the 2024 matric examinations.
On the 724 156 full-time learners who registered to the National Senior Certificate (NSC), 572 338 are social grant beneficiaries, representing eighty one% on the registered pupils while in the training sector.
These learners obtained a commendable pass rate of 86%.
"This means that the expenditure government is making within the lives of inadequate and vulnerable kids is yielding a constructive effects in breaking intergenerational poverty," Tolashe said.
